Syracuse’s two-game win streak came to an end at the hands of a scrappy Florida State team last night. FSU dominated the last 16 minutes or so of the game and went on to cruise to an 85-69 win over the Orange.
Syracuse dropped to 13-6 (4-4 ACC) and host NC State on Saturday night.
The game was VERY ugly on both sides to start - which wasn’t too surprising when you looked at these teams offensive numbers along with having a strength in defense.
Outside of Judah Mintz (28 points, 9-14 from the field, 10-15 from the line), there wasn’t much production for the Orange in this one. JJ Starling had 10 points on 14 shots and Maliq Brown added 8 points and 12 rebounds.
After having a couple of games this season where teams shot ridiculously poorly against them from behind the 3 point line, Syracuse had one of their own - shooting just 1-14 from 3. They also turned it over 15 times.
The loss dropped Syracuse to 81st in KenPom and 82nd NET.
